Situated on Nova Scotia’s picturesque South Shore, the village of Chester has that lovely uncrowded, lazy pace that years ago was characteristic of so many towns and villages up and down the Atlantic Seaboard. Hawthorn Cottage is located in the heart of Chester just a short stroll from the Village centre. Here you will find stately summer homes, classic yachts bobbing at their moorings, along with delightful cafes, artists’ studios and galleries.
To reach us from the Halifax Stanfield International Airport:
- On leaving the airport follow the signs to Halifax Hwy 102 south
- Proceed south approx 5 kms (staying in the right hand lane) take exit 5 which is a continuation of #102 south DO NOT follow signs to Halifax via the bridge
- Take exit 1A onto Hwy 103 which is the South Shore Highway and continue approx. 50 kms to exit 7 - Hwy #329/Hwy 3 Blandford/Chester
- Turn right at Hwy #3 and follow the signs to Chester approx 8.5 kms
- Turn left at Victoria Street
- Tremont is the 2nd street on the left and Hawthorn Cottage is #83
Remember, Chester is just 45 mins from Halifax so day trips are an easy way to visit the city sights and then return to the relaxing atmosphere of Hawthorn Cottage.
